Just thought I would do a little post about my new role here at the National Trust Plym Valley. My name is Charlie and I am the new Sport Development Officer for the area which is really exciting and something the Trust is looking to do more to get more people to enjoy the fabulous outdoor spaces we have to offer.
I have a background in Sport Development working for the County Sports Partnership – Active Devon – for nearly 3 years and previous to that I was studying for my Sport Development degree. I am very excited about this role with the Trust and I am looking forward to getting stuck in and getting more people enjoying out places.
The National Trust has teamed up Sport England (the government agency for community sport) to make this role happen and get more people out, about and taking part in activity in our beautiful surroundings. And that is exactly what I will be doing here at the Trust.
Working with the team and the public to enable more people to enjoy our natural playground and having fun while doing it. I will be looking at putting on all manner of different activities for you to take part in including beginner running groups, bootcamp fitness sessions, parent and child sessions, orienteering courses, events and lots more.
So why not check out our Facebook and Twitter pages as well as the website to see what is on offer for you. Or you can pick up a Get Active @ Plym Valley guide from the Welcome Centre at Saltram.
I hope to see you soon down in the woods
